Training, Losing, Returning: Sport as Practice

Sport at Haidian Foreign Language Academy is part of the timetable, not an add-on. Students train with coaches, follow conditioning programmes and learn to manage the demands of competition alongside academic work.
The most important sessions are often the least glamorous: repetition, correction, recovery. Coaches teach students to name what went wrong, adjust one thing, and try again — a habit that travels well beyond the field.
Competition brings its own education. Teams win, lose and draw; individuals miss the shot or beat their own record. Students learn to shake hands, review the footage and turn up for the next session.
Over time, the practice becomes part of who they are: disciplined, coachable, and able to keep going when the result is not yet there.
